Initial Thoughts / Unboxing

Upon unboxing, the pillow was in a protective, traditional pillow bag. It didn’t have any foul or overpowering smells like some memory foam based pillows do.

Detailed Analysis

The ComfortOPTION SoftFlow pillow we tested (standard size – traditional loft) was around 6.5 inches in height. This pillow has a combination of unique technologies and design. On the surface of the exterior ultra soft foam, they have a technology called KulKote. This technology is a temperature regulating coating that helps minimize temperature variations for a more comfortable nights sleep. Within the core, the pillow has a one of a kind CNC design which helps facilitate airflow and comfort. The interior foam is of higher density which creates the support. We believe the cover fabric is 68% polyester and 32% viscose and has a soft feel and slight stretch. The material is durable and breathable.

Support ( A – Stomach; A – Back; A – Side )

As with most memory foam or memory foam like pillows, the ComfortOPTION SoftFlow pillow offers great support. It feels much different than a traditional memory foam pillow though because the core isn’t really memory foam. The core is made from Serene® foam (technically not memory foam or latex foam) which has a memory foam like feel but is an open cell foam so heat doesn’t build up. The CNC core truly makes the pillow feel light and not as doughy as a traditional memory foam pillow. Additionally, the softness/firmness came in at a 4 in our tests (view our firmness scale). The height mixed with this firmness rating makes this version great for back and side sleepers while the lower loft (slim version) is best for stomach sleepers.

Durability ( A )

No issues with durability on the cover or the foam through our testing. We saw normal wear on the cover and the core is still in excellent shape. The inner CNC portion continues to maintain its shape and came back to its original position. Additionally, the coating on the pillow was perfect. It didn’t peel or flake off like gels or other coatings. ComfortOPTION SoftFlow Pillow Review Core   Below, you can see the knit of the cover which is made of 68% polyester and 32% viscose. It has a simple design and a tight weave. The cover is slightly stretchy so it will not tear and will adapt to any head movements. The cover survived our durability testing with little noticeable wear.

Comfort ( A )

The soft yet supportive feel mixed with the cooling aspect contributes to this pillow have excellent comfort. No crinkle or noise from the cover. Additionally, it has a very light feeling to it while still maintaining an enhanced memory foam feel.

Value ( A )

Great price for the amount of work that goes into making this pillow. The CNC aspect is an additional step no other pillow manufacturer is doing. The quality of raw materials is excellent, especially for the low price. Lastly, everything about this pillow (CNC design, KulKote coating, soft and durable cover) screams premium and high quality.

Other ( B )

The pillow cover isn’t the easiest to get off/on and clean, but it is washable.

Subjective Thoughts

All in all, this pillow will be great for all types of sleepers because it comes it is available in different lofts and the technology is more advanced than many pillows. This is one of our favorite memory foam pillows because of its uniqueness in feel and breathability. It performed well in all of our tests and should have a long lifespan.
